I am proud to share the successful implementation of our Teeth Detection System – Teeth Performance System (TPS) at Anglo American’s Quellaveco operation, one of the most technologically advanced mines in the world.
This achievement not only represents a significant milestone in operational efficiency but also marks a turning point in our journey as leaders in technological solutions for mining.
The implementation of the Teeth Performance System at Quellaveco posed a considerable challenge. Our team’s arrival promised a unique undertaking compared to other operations: we were stepping into a company that was born 100% digital, with a complete focus on innovation and the adoption of advanced technologies. While it was not our first encounter with such a challenge, it was fascinating to confirm that our TPS was the perfect solution to meet these demands. Its ability to detect early the loss of “Gets” (load teeth and adapters) prevents them from damaging crushing equipment, thereby avoiding operational downtime, production losses, and safety impacts.
The experience at Quellaveco has been overwhelmingly positive. Despite initial challenges, the implementation was a resounding success, and the results speak for themselves: increased operational efficiency and a significant reduction in equipment downtime.
This success has become a launchpad for new implementations in other mining operations, and I am proud to announce that we are now deploying the Teeth Performance System at Antamina, one of Peru’s largest mining companies.
